The Battle of Huntington Central Park Rages

Civil War Days came to Surf City a couple of months back and I managed to grab this shot of Old Glory waving proudly through the canon smoke as the Army of the Potomac fought off the rebels.

Perhaps it's her first skateboard ride. Near Huntington Beach Pier. The camera was a "Debonair 120," which is a plastic "toy camera" made in Hong Kong. The film was Fuji Acros 100, which I processed in Rodinal.

Self-Portrait in a De Soto Hubcap

Took this at the Huntington Beach Concours last Sunday. The wheel belongs to a DeSoto Airflow from the mid-1930s. The DeSoto was a division of Chrysler at the time and the Airflow was a seminal design (also released as the Chrysler Airflow) in that it was--I believe--the first real aerodynamically-designed car. The car you see in the hubcap is a Chrysler Airflow. Don't know who that other bloke is. Took this with my Canon 7D.

Drummers with drums of many kinds drummed out a hypnotic beat and cadence last weekend at the pier amphitheater. I took this shot with my Holga 120 WPC pinhole camera and expired Kodak Ektachrome 100 ASA slide film.
